0 Roger Federer thanks his fans for the birthday wishes

World number one Roger Federer thanked his fans for their wishes and support for him during his latest matches. The Swiss Maestro went on a holiday with his wife and daughters on his 31st birthday. The 17-time Grand Slam champion posted on his facebook account that, “Enjoying some time off. Thank you so much for all your kind wishes for my birthday and all your loyal support always!” Federer’s fans were disappointed when they got to know that their favorite player had pulled out of this week’s Rogers Cup but now they can know that the Swiss star is spending some much needed quality time with his family. He needed to freshen himself after a hectic schedule, playing a long stretch of tournaments in this season. Federer has turned 31 but he is still playing like a young player. At an age when most of the tennis players plan to take retirement, the Swiss Maestro is still hungry for more success. After losing to Great Britain’s Andy Murray in the Gold Medal match at the London Olympics on last Sunday, Federer has vowed that he will take part in the Rio Olympics in 2016 if he stays fit. From the level of fitness the Swiss legend has attained throughout his career, one can be sure that he will stay fully fit till that time. Federer regained number one ranking by winning Wimbledon just five weeks back. He defeated Murray to capture his record leveling seventh title at the All England Club. The Swiss star is expected to start practice at this weekend as he has to participate at the Western and Southern Open in the next week.
